Background on the Survey:
PMR.africa completed its annual national survey on quantity surveyors in South Africa. The respondents rated the quantity surveyors across a range of 9 attributes, namely:
• Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)
• Budget/cost control
• Commitment to the project
• Control of assignment
• Cooperation with client
• Reliable data
• Reputation of firm (i.e. perception of the firm’s brand, integrity, CSI)
• Responsiveness
• Timeous completion
The ratings were based on the perceptions of the respondents.
How the survey was conducted:
Interviews were conducted from November 2014 to January 2015. These interviews were carried out telephonically utilising semi-structured questionnaires. Back-checks were conducted at all stages of the fieldwork, data capture and analysis stages. 140 respondents in the Construction Industry comprising of 34 architects, 36 construction companies, 50 consulting engineers and 20 property developers were interviewed.
This prestigious award is an acknowledgement of the effort and hard work that we all have contributed towards our success.
